The Entered Apprentice Degree is the first of three ceremonial stages, or degrees, in the Masonic journey to join a lodge. It is The first degree, which introduces candidates to Masonry and the ceremonies of the fraternity
The Master Mason degree is the third and final degree in the Blue Lodge. It represents a candidate's maturity and knowledge, and is the culmination of all they have learned in the first two degrees. It symbolizes man's maturity through incereased knowledge and wisdom. It is the culmination of all he has learned through the first degrees, including how to prepare for spiritual enlightenment through the craft's teachings.
On July 27, 2024, we Installed our 55th Worshipful Master at James V. Callan Da-Lite Lodge #1422.
Worshipful Master Rob David, Sec. J. David Ashton, and Br. Martin Freeman attended the 14th District MWSA Stated Meeting on July 31st.
The Master Mason degree is the highest degree that can be obtained in Freemasonry. On Saturday, May 25, 2024 it was great to see Br. Justin Zapata achieve this goal.
We had a wonderful turn out of brothers to see him go through the degree. It was great to have the Brothers of King of Meca come and confer the degree.
Every installation will vary a bit from Lodge to Lodge, or Chapter to Chapter, as well as from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. However, they all tend to follow the same general format:
Since its inception the Golden Trowel Award continues to be an exciting means for Lodges to recognize and honor distinguished members with an official award from the Grand Lodge of Texas. It is for use by all Texas Lodges. The Golden Trowel is the Lodge’s formal recognition of a Brother for his devoted service to Masonic principles in general or to his Lodge. It is intended for the Brother who, year after year, quietly, but actively demonstrates his devotion to the teachings of Masonry without thought of recognition or special honors.

This is a candidate’s first experience with the ceremonies of the Fraternity, and like all Masonic ceremonies, it is a solemn and meaningful event. Once a candidate completes the Entered Apprentice ceremony, he takes his first step as a Freemason and enjoys the title of “Brother.”
